We slept in this morning after helping Kaizer move to a new home yesterday... hit the riverpark around 11:00 to put some time on the motor. Almost have the break-in completed... 2.5 more hours to go emoSmile
We took a casual trip down through Chattanooga, around Moccasin bend and down to Signal Mtn. Decided to fish some there and work our way back up river. Water temps were 70ish, water was down a couple of feet and stained. We fished some rocky points and blowdowns in 18-22 FOW with TX rigs, spinner baits and crankbaits and picked up a couple chunky 14" LM's. Moved back upstream to Williams Island and fished the channel side with the same baits... caught a couple more slicks... then we saw the TN River Gorge Explorer coming upstream emoEek emoEek I've heard all about this boat, and knew what was about to happen emoBang .... well.... he was on plane pretty good, and headed upstream... as he neared, he dropped from plane, well before his wake would slam me... and idled on past us, we waved to each other... and once he was clear, he took off again. This is my only experience with this boat, and it was a positive one emoTongue
We continued our trek back upstream fishing rocky banks and would pick up a fish ever now and then... usually when sitting in about 18 FOW. Most fish were on the TX Rigged worms. New crankbait rod worked good today... stuck 4 fish and boated all of them emoBig
no keepers today, but the ride was good, chiggers were few, and we still got our line stretched ... nice few hours on the water with the wife emoDance
