tyler ware, Chickamauga, Bass, 5-25-09, Lefty
#1
Got to the water about 7:15 to 7:30 . Headed to our first spot in hopes of getting a little top water action. Well first cast I land a 3.5ish on a popR. Then Lefty lands one on his also. That was all the top water action we had. Those came off a point that goes to about 14 ft total, with the fish caught over about 5-7 ft of water. This was my 2nd if on top water our of the Chick and 4th total. Good times right there. Then we started catching them on shaky heads and c-rigs. The c-rig was the ticket of the day though. I lost another nice fish on a crankbait. We caught 9 off the point and around a few docks in 8-10ft of water. Then moved to a hump thats goes to 9 ft, right off the channel. Caught 4 there on the c-rig with two of them being keepers. Water temp was 73 I think. Had one tap the worm, then just inhale it. That hook ended up deep in its throat. Thought it was buried, but realized that was someone else's hook waaaay back in there. Three times today I would nice a fish, reel in fast and call out loud I was going back for it, and BAM, fish on with the next cast to the same spot. I bet we could have caught more top water fish had we gotten to the lake sooner, but the activity died down after our two fish. Lefty caught this jig, biggest jig I have even seen.
