swamp, nick-a-jack, shellcracker,bluegill,bass, 6/9, Zach (grandson #1 fishing partner)Fly rod first
#1
My grandson ZACH and I decided that we were tough, and we were not going to let the blazing sun and middle of the day heat stop us from going fishing. We loaded up and went to racoon mt. Got there about noon, left at 4:00. zach caught a bunch of fish on a jig head about the size of a b/b on a #6 hook, and a little black curly tail grub about one inch long.He caught a nice bass on his ultralight rig. That bass jumped and ran under the boat, and jumped some more.I was beginning to think it was going to get away but Zach did a good job playing him and we finally landed it.We saw some willow flies on the water and in the bushes so I rigged up a couple of fly rods.Zach has never fly fished and he said he wanted to learn. So after a short but very entertaining lesson he caught his first fish on a popping bug. He caught about a dozen more bream on popping bugs now he is hooked.<br />He is wearing to different styles of hats. he changed back and forth all day. i dont know why,I didnt ask.Oh,he also caught a nice redear sunfish on his little black grub.Dont catch many shellcracker on plastic.Fun,Fun,Fun, Got real hot and went home I cant keep up with an eleven year old
