Well, its been almost 2 years since I have been to the Chick. Me and dad, (Tileman), ended up having the day off of work, so we decided to go and try to get some catfish. We knew that the bite would be slow, if at all, but I did not care. I wanted to go out in a boat (I do not have one) and spend the whole day looking for catfish. We put in about 6:00 and caught some bluegill and headed over to do some fishing. After about an hour, dad had caught 2 little Channel Cats and I was getting skunked. That was o.k. I had many hours ahead of me to change that, but really, who cares- I was fishing and not at work emoSmile . About a half hour later, I was rigging up my bass rod and my Catfish rod doubled over. I picked it up and I knew that I had something big. Ater a couple of minutes and a nice surge from Mr. Catfish, the line went limp- OH GREAT. I was reeling back in to put some more bait on then he took off again. I thought that I had lost him. After a couple of nice pulls from him and a change of direction or two, I landed him. He was my personal best blue cat- 42 pounds. He was a monster (to me at least). I had left the camera in the truck (good move, right) but I did get a shot of him with my cell phone, so maybe I can get that picture up on here for you guys to see. I released him. I hope I get the chance to get him again because he was very fun to play with. Other than that, the day was very very fun but unproductive. Dad got him two little channel cats, four 3 pound blues and an 8pound blue. I ended up with two 3 pound blues and a huge 42 pound blue. We quit early because of the rain, but all in all a wonderful day on the water.
