I got on the water about 3pm with hopes of some smallmouth action, and spent a couple hours working deep bars in the channel -- but catching more rays than smallies. A few clouds were all that were needed to turn it around. First a few splashes here and there, then the melee began. Schools of whites were chasing threadfin through the current plume between the dam and the big rock hump. For a couple of hours it was nearly a fish on every cast, all on a Pop-R. Most fish were about 11-12", but there were a couple up to around 17" and even a couple LM and a spot or two mixed in. I don't think I could think of a more fun way to spend a couple of hours...
