Put in at 6:45 and headed to the dam to try for bait. We went to the trash hole and caught 3 threadfin in about 20 mins of throwing the cast net. We then went over to the number one turbine and tied up the the big white pole. No sooner did we tie off and I went up on the front deck to throw my net we had a TVA police officer yelling at us from top of the cliff to get away from the dam and that we couldn't tie up to the dam. Never heard that before boats tie off to the dam everywhere up there but of coarse we didn't argue and we untied and went back to the trash hole. To make a long story short I caught 7 threadfin shad in 2 hours of throwing my net. Knowing that the stripers quit biting early we didn't even try drifting for them imstead we went on the calm side of the wing wall and tried for bass instead. My dad caught 4 LM two being 4lbs and one over 5. I managed 2 LM about 3lbs range. We called it quits about 11a.m. and headed home. Oh and side note and I know this has been beat to death but when loading or unloading your boat please do so somewhere other then the top of the boat ramp!!! We were getting our boat ready to launch and we were in the middle of the parking lot on the side and it takes us probably ten mins. Then some body comes by us straight to the ramp and backs up to the top of the ramp. We pull around to put in and have to wait ten mins on them to load their rods and hook up the fuel line and find life vest prime the fuel bulb and call and get a weather report ect. I know it only ten mins or so but its the point. Be curtious and get your boat and gear ready off to the side and out of the way.
