drumking, chickamauga, Crappie and bass, 7/09/09, Yellburt
#1
I had a great time with Yellburt today. We fished for bass early, then crappie later on in the morning. Bass fishing was great, and crappie fishing was just so-so. We landed 19 out of 30 hookups. Lots of bass jumping off today for some reason. We saw GPaul out there getting in on the action. Good talking to him.

Then we fished for crappie. Some docks, some bluffs, and other places. We caught 24 with 6 being nice 11-12.5 inch fish. We made a man happy at the ramp with those fish. We did a lot of boat riding as this was the first time for Yellie up here and I just showed him around. We ran from the dam to well above Sequoia. The fish were deep and caught mostly on bg shads in various colors. water temp was 83 degrees, not much current while we were out there. We quit fishing around 12:30.

I had a great time today, Yellburt. Hope to do this again sometime. Oh, I caught the smallest fish of my life today. It was a 2" bluegill and I asked it what was it thinking, but it didn't answer me a word. Catching 2 bass on one cast was a hoot too. First time I have done that since my Watts Bar days when I was a young whippersnapper. emoBigSmile I did that several times up there fishing for schooling bass. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
