<br /> The slow bite continued for my son Paul and me this morning. We were committed to a plan that produced a small limit but was short of spectacular. We started on a large grass flat where Paul landed our first fish on a worm at 6:51. I followed with our first keeper and a couple of slicks but the bigger fish never moved in. After two hours of searching this area, we moved to a rocky bank and Paul put our second keeper in the well on a jig. Time was quickly slipping away so we started running and gunning and I managed our 3rd keeper flipping a jig in a deep treetop. That was our limit as we we unable to upgrade, but we finished 7th, with 5.5# and got our entry back. We had 29 boats on this beautiful and chilly morning and the water temp had dropped to 81 - 82* from the mid to upper eighties. It was great to see everyone and congrats to Damon and Jeff for taking 1st place honors with 8.53# and to the others that placed. We had some new faces today including dmucha and HL&amp;amp;S and thanks to all that came out and played. Next stop on the 2009 CFF Trail is August 15 , 8PM - 2AM,Chester Frost Park, Chickamauga Lake. Thanks to Pointer 78 for handling sign-in, and to Billy and Adam for their effort at weigh-in. Also, I encourage Damon to share his experience with a fellow angler, from another tx that needs to be dealt with. Al
