Wiskers was nice enough to ask me to go with him to the Nick for the CFF since I am boatless. I jumped on the idea and we got started today at 4:30. I had to keep Wiskers awake since he is not use to getting up before Hardee's is open. emoLaugh Got there this morning and the gang was already there and had it all going well. Adam checked our live wells right off, Wetwillie was supervising everything and Pointer took our money. emoThumbsup They had it togather. Nice to see everyone and as usual the chat at the ramp beforehand was as much fun as the tournament itself. emoGrouphug Got out on the main river at 6:00, blasted off at 6:15.<br /><br /> We headed for a couple areas I usually can catch a few that has several grass flats and deep water close by. I have not been on the Nick since spring so we were just hoping to find some. I was surprised the grass had not topped out where we were but I fished it shallow and with a spook. Started hitting bass right off but mostly slicks. On about my seventh I got our first keeper. 16 inches but long and skinny. Wiskers netted it. emoEvil Had a couple more and got another decent one on a spook, 15.5 inches, Wiskers netting it. emoEvil The top water bite died so I went to a 10 inch worm. Wiskers kept trying stuff but could not get one to take and keep his bait. He had a couple blow up on his but did not take it. emoScratch I managed a couple more and we moved around some. The bite for us was slow and far between. Wiskers finally managed one on a worm and then another. It was about 10:30 so he was discussed and happy at the same time. Happy he had finally boated a couple, discussed it about took him all morning to do it. I missed what felt like a good one on the worm and shortly there after had our third and finaly keeper which was also our smallest at a hair over 15 inches. A couple more came into the boat but no other close to keepers.<br /><br /> I was very happy to be in the money for a change but with only 5.81 lbs with our three that showed just how hard it was today. To get a check for sixth place and only do it with 5.81 was surprising to say the least. emoBig <br /><br />You guys did a great job, thanks for putting it on. emoWorthy Jmax
