Fished from 3:30 till dark and caught many fish including 2 drums and a ton of stripes. We had maby 2 decent limits of keepers in all. We caught them in feeding schools on top. I was waiting for them to blow up and I just tossed a Fluke into the boils and it was a hookup nearly every time! Good evening exept losing my spinning rod and reel. On that note, We were sitting in a VERY popular hole out from the Booker T park near the main channell. I had my spinning rod with the fluke across the front of the boat on standby for when they started jumping. The tail of my bait was barely touching the water and I just heard a fish swirl right at the front of the boat and when I looked I saw my junk go right in the lake and just stood there! emoBang We used deep diving crankbaits and anything else to try to snag the rod but no luck. The fish couldn't have been hooked and I'd say as soon as the rod hit bottom he let go. On my way back later that evening there was a dog fight just started and I saw 3 boats fishing this little hump and I'm pretty sure one of them maybe hooked it but who knows where it ended up? I'll just plan on replacing it. The rod I've had a long time its a 7' Ugly Stick but I just put a new reel on it! emoAngry It was a Mitchell somethingnother. I can't remember. We still had fun fishing.
