I spent a week on Watts Bar and fished mostly in Piney and the lower end of the lake. Didn't really ever get on a school of quality fish, but picked a few up here and there on 10inch worms and jigs. Also caught several fish early in the morning and late afternoon on buzzbaits on top of the points and a few flats. My stepson riley had his personal best of a fat 5.5largemouth. His dad already posted some pics. Man was he pumped. I had my 6 year old son with me also and spent most of my time tying on everything in my box for him. But by the end of the week, I finally got him fishing pretty well and he ended up catching his best fish so far, a nice 3lb largemouth on a bubblegum trick worm fishing it with no weight. All and all it was a great week and nice to be out on the water everyday. Oh ya, about the big largemouth riley caught... When he set the hook, he told me it was a good one and I told his mom to dip the fish for him since she was in the back with him. That thing made a run by the boat and I saw how big it was and before I could say anything, my wife smacked that sucker about 3 times right in the head trying to dip it! I ran back there and jerked the net away and finally got it dipped! He sure didn't want to turn it back but I finally convinced him he would catch many 5lbers if he kept fishing. So he finally turned her back.
