The weather seemed really nice Friday PM so I decided to go fish about 4pm. Took off work a little early wanting to beat some of the Labor Day crowd emoCool From Chester Frost ran up beyond Nuk plant to check out a couple coves. Not much happening and the sun was actually hotter than I thought so I decided to run back to the Nuk and see if any TW action would trigger. I like to see if the fish are holding deep too so I checked out an area right off the green buoys across from the Nuk plant. Big mistake!!!!! A large cruiser ran by on one side of me and a wake boat ran by on the other. Three 4 foot waves broke over the bow of the boat and I got to see how the bilge pumps worked. emoDoh Now that I was shaken and the carpet was nice and cool I said enough of this :emoticon: So I cranked and went to a protected area with grass. The bite was just not happening. I saw one nice one flash at a TW and that was it. So I eased out and tried a heavy spinnerbait on the point and finally caught a few bass. Not any size to them though. I cranked up and ran to HB and saw a few blow up along the shore but try as I might I had no takers on a variety of baits. Some schooling bait but no schooling bass. I hope the guys at the HBSP event today do better and watch out for those destroyers throwing those big wakes! emoBang emoBang Any way I had fun being on the water! I met two great CFF members this week. Thanks again Andrew for the reel - did not get a chance to use it yet and Skeeter for buying some of my stuff so I could buy Andrew's reel. Skeeter has a real nack with reels. He showed me a big offshore 2 speed he repaired for a client - really impressive. emoWorthy You have to have a lot of patience for that!
