Hey, hey, hey! It's Fat Albert time. Al actually caught over his normal limit today. I was so proud of him. He caught the first 2 smallies of the day and was about to rub it in, when what do you know, but old DK caught a 3.5 and a 4.7 oz smallies on back to back casts. Wooo, what a rush. Thankfully, I did take the time between the first fish and pics to re-tie my little jig on and the big smallie hit on the next cast. AFter a valiant effort, the fish finally gave up and came to net. Al did a marvelous job of netting this fish. I don't think that he was trying to knock this fish off when he missed it the first time. emoPoke emoBig

All together this morning, we landed about 25 or 26 bass including spotted, largemouth and 5 smallmouth bass. FA caught a bluegill and a crappie to add to the variety of fish. I took home 8 spotted bass to eat and we let all the other go, some after pics and others after a good talking to.

We were using 1/16oz jigs with tiny flukes with a tail light. We fished the whole dam area (not cussing), notice that the "n" is missing. emoBig
. Al caught a nice smallie right off the bat on a brand new rod that he had made and he fell in love with it. He really loved it later when he caught another smallie just after the first one. Try as we could, I just couldn't get Al to set the hook on a bigger smallie than me. We were both praying that he would, but we just had to settle for tales of past smallies that came to net. We had a wonderful time of fishing and fellershipping. We covered Genesis to Revelation and some points in between too. That was the good part of the trip. We quit fishing just a little past 12:15 and started about 8:00 am or so. emoBig
