Drove up to Wisconsin Labor day and have been fishing area lakes. Last two days we fished 950 acre Crab Lake and landed 81 smallmouth - and had half that many jump and throw the bait. Fishing has been great. First place I stopped to day I got a 16 inch smallmouth on a jighead worm rigged on a light spining outfit and 8 pound line. That is what most have hit.<br /><br />I love it up here.<br /><br />Water temps are around 72 degrees but it is unusually hot - hit 80 today , average high is 68.<br /><br />Last Thursday we fished a small 200 acre lake and landed 86 fish - most large and smallmouth up to 3.5 pounds, but some rock bass, too. Something was hitting all the time. We threw wacky rigged Senkos on light tackle.<br /><br />Only bad news, I hit a rock pile yesterday and bent two prop blades and the shaft. Hae another prop but there is some vibration when on plene so not running much. Glad the lakes are small.<br /><br />Hate to head home Wednesday.
