Kinda slow at work this afternoon, could not find a partner to fish with me, so I picked up my 9 yr old who was off from school today and we wnt looking for crappie. Marshall is not much of a fisherman, 2 short of attention span, he only likes fishing for catfish in the spring, and fishing whenever with "Mr. Richard (Sims)"

Finally found the key to taking him, brought paper and pencil and he drew dragons the whole time, never got bored at all!!

Only had a couple of hours, so I tried a couple of docks in the lower end of the lake, caught 16 crappie and one spot. Kept 5 for dinner. 12 of the 16 were keepers, the 5 that I kept were all over 11", the largest @ 13".

All fish were on docks, clos to the support posts, on a 4-5 count, panfish assasin with "tail lights" 1/32 head, most were a very subtle bite, when the area I was in would slow down I would re-position the boat and fish the same area from a different angle, would always pick one or two up quickly from the same "fished out" spot.

Nice afternoon with my youngest.

Quote of the day: when I landed a nice 12" slab, he flipped off of the hook and was flopping around on the deck, I said " man Marshall he really didn't like that hook huh?" said Marshall, head down while drawing "Then he is REALLY not gonna like your filet knife!!"
