I had to cancel out on Procraft last Thursday because of the threat of bad weather and I thought that I had messed up. The morning wasn't too bad last week, but Kenneth came up today to fish with me for crappie. We still had a great day, all things considered. Fishing docks exclusively, we landed 79 crappie up to 13.5 inches long. No tarps today, but several nice fish. Kenneth was able to take 2 limits of crappie home with him today. I didn't keep any. We finished off at my training dock.

We also landed 3 smallouth bass and 2 bluegills on our crappie jigs. We used 1/32 oz jigheads and various plastics. I started off with a BG crytal shad with a tail light and caught so many on the first stop that they finally wore the plastic out. Then I changed to panfish assassins and stayed with them the rest of the time that we fished. Kenneth fished mostly with BG shads with an occasional switch to another lure. We put the boat in the water at 7:30 and put it back on the trailer at 1:00 pm. Not a shabby day.

The fish were from a 4 count to 8 count today. Color didn't seem to matter at all. The colors that I used in the panfish assassin were pumpkinseed with the belly and tail painted chartreuse. Albino shad with a chartreuse tail light and Polo-dog's favorite panfish assassin. emoBig
I'll go ahead and let the cat out of the bag. Polo's favorite is a crystal shad with a tail light. Crappie wore that lure out today too. emoBig

I forgot to look at the water temp today, but I guess that it was in the mid 70's. Lots of current so we didn't fish any bluffs. Tomorrow is Labman's turn and I'm looking forward to fishing with him. See you guys on the water.

emoBig
