Wrapped up work yesterday and had time to run out to the lake for a couple of hours. As soon as I hit the river I knew I was in trouble. The river was muddy, flow was very strong and the lake is over the banks right now. The drop shot bite was almost null. I also was going to try and pick up some crappie for a fish fry and they were also almost shut down. Tried three places on the river and all three was poor. Managed only three crappie, two 11 inchers and one big one about 1.5 lbs. Also picked up one spot on the crappie assassin. Decided to skip the crappie and go for bass.

Started with the drop shot and could not mark the ledge with markers due to the current. emoDoh Wind going one way, current going another way and waves going a third way. You could not tell you were moving but you were. emoMad I caught about three or four on the drop but it would almost make you dizzy trying to stay in one spot. Had one real good one that was a good two and a half pound spotted bass on the drop. Decided to try some shallow grass and left the river. Hit the grass around Harrison and found a few but the bite was slow. Only one really worth talking about was a good one that destroyed my spook, went on a run and the line broke. emoBang If anyone catches a 4+ bass with a spook in it's mouth...can I have my spook back? Did catch another 8 or 10 more along the grass edges but mostly slick LM. I left at dark and called it a day.

C-ya on the water. emoAngler Jmax
