Labman, Chickamauga, Crappie, etc, 10/04/09, wife (Judie)
#1
Hit the lake this morning after walking the dogs and breakfast. We don't get in too much of a hurry on Sunday morning so got on the water about 10:15. Wanted to catch a few Crappie for a neighbor so hit 3 mainlake docks and had 15 keepers by 12:00. Kept 6 medium fish for our friend and released the rest. We didn't get any large fish, but most in the 10 1/2-12" range. Good eating size.

Judie also caught 5 bluegill, and a shad minnow on a BG bleeding shad jig. Just impaled the little sucker. I also caught 3 small bass and a mud turtle that I snagged on its shell. That was entertaining, lol. All crappie caught in 5-8' of water on BG shads 1/32 jigs and color didn't seem to matter. We ate some lunch in a quiet cove and then checked 2 new docks and found crappie on both of them. These 2 docks were in a cove off the main lake.

Judie is officially a "dock shooter" now. She even backed the trailer in to load the boat when we came in. What is going on, she will be wanting her own boat soon.

Had a fun morning and got back home before the rain started.

Regards, Norman and Judie
