Fished the October CBA Saturday with Rich because my partner had to cancel. We started out the day going to run down river to a spot that has been producing really well in the morning with a top water bite. However when we blasted off and got out around the mouth of Chester Frost my big motor blew. That is not a very comfortable feeling when you get an early boat number on a foggy morning and you are sitting dead in the water where you know you shouldnt be. I was definetly glad I stayed up till 2:30 getting my trolling motor back in good shape. Anyways we started trolling back in trying to make up my mind if I wanted to load it up or not and I caught a solid keeper. I figured we might as well try it and we kept fishing our way around. By the end of the day our top speed was .8 mph on 17 volts out of 36 so I hope I didnt mess my TM or batteries up. Ended up boating probably 10 or more keepers with the big fish being 4.77. So all in all it was still a very bad day but we did finish in 10th on the trolling motor with 15 something. Caught most of our fish on spinnerbaits and crankbaits I did manage a few on a jig as well. I guess the flipping bite was off. We quit a little early so we could get towed back in. Thanks again BBass and Fluke.
