Got a late start cuz the young boy likes to sleep late but he was home from fall break so I cut him some slack. We put in at the dam and fished Booker T and some other sloughs. The key was finding shad. Believe it or not with all the bait not every slough held bait. Booker T did not disappoint and even though we did not get out until 11:30 the fish were busting bait. Caught my best of the day and several smaller fish. Sam caught a few smaller fish. Most were in the 1-1/2 to 2lb category - really healthy and fat. Tried up in Harrison Bay but did not find anything busting bait and in fact in the big slough off the main bay there was very little bait. emoScratch So we fired up and ran to the power plant and someone was already on the good spot there. Tried a spot Polo Dog and I fished but only some small ones. Not much happening. Man it was cold!!
Sam said his hands were hurting so we ran down river back towards the dam and hit a bunch of fish busting in the main channel. We had a great time throwing top water in 20 to 40 feet of water. Unbeleivable! emoSmile Sam started smokin me on his favorite TW set up so I finally put my Sammy down and tied on his secret weapon and almost caught up with him. He caught the big fish of the day although I had one that was close. Fun to be out with my son down from UT for fall break. A Dad could ask for nothing better!! emoSmile emoFish emoFish emoFish emoFish emoFish emoUSA emoDance emoUSA
