BassERT, Chick!, crappie pics, 10-20-09, dragfish
#1
It was a dark and foggy day as we limped to the first training dock.
We picked up a couple of crappie and decided we would try the cliffs, so...we watched the trusty(?) GPS and attempted to idle away to our next destination.
LOOK OUT!!! emoGoofy there are people in boats out there and we couldn't believe they were fishing in the fog! emoCrazy

They needed their heads examined for being out there, but we were in need of examination too as we idled in a giant arc and we were heading way off of where we wanted to go.
Somehow, we found ourselves after much calculation and confusion on the second hole of the day and again caught only a couple of crappie there.

Well the fog lifted enough to make a break for training dock #2 and we arrived safely. Caught a nice largemouth and skunked the target fish there, so...we went upriver towards training dock #3. With a quick stop at a secret spot there on the way, we caught a couple of nice crappie and talked with an old friend there. 1 fish was just shy of 14 so we knew we could do better and on we went.
The fog was totally lifted now and we whupped up on em when we arrived at our last main spot.
They liked the crystal shad dipped with a tail light and we started getting into many fish in a row ahhhhhh..

I had a great time fishing with DF and he was a wonderful host. Great boat and positioning skills and the fellowship couldn't have been more pleasant.
Most fish were caught mid level 10 to 18 on 1/16 and the day was memorable. 25 Fish of which 1 was a throwback, all others were 11+ and a few just short of 14.
Thanks DF I hope we can do that again real soon!!

Some pics emoAngler
