RyanWood, Chick, Crappie -TARP?, 10/22/2009, Solo
#1
Decided to head to the river instead of the treestand this morning, and finally got to the fog-covered water at 10:00 am. Slowly crossed the river to the Harrison side and began to fish some docks in 10-16 feet of water. Only hit two docks, but they produced pretty good. Fishing was steady. By 1 pm, I had caught about 25 crappie, kept the best 15 for the frying pan. Fish were caught on a 1/16 pearl tube, tail dipped in chartreuse, and on a 1/16 BG shad in bluegrass. Current was moving along pretty good so I fished to a 10 count before slowly reeling it in. When they seemed to stop biting, I adjusted the retrieve to slowly lifting the rod tip about a foot and letting the bait fall.

One fish measured right at 15" without me even pinching the tail down. I believe that is a TARP if I'm not mistaken. My best crappie in quite some time! This is a great time of year to be on the water!
