m17glock, chickamuaga, crappie, a TARP for glock jr, 10/25/2009, glockjr and RiverRat
#1
planned on taking Riverrat today to show him what few crappie fishing skills i had and introduce him to dock shooting. we met up at the grasshopper ramp around 7:30 am with a dense fog on the lake emoBang

instead of hitting the docks on the main channel we eased over (idle speed) to sale creek where the fog was just as thick and fished around the bridge. the fishing was good but the catching slow with most of the fish there coming on a 10 count on a 1/16 BG bluegrass shad.

the fog finally lifted and we headed to some main river docks where the wind plus the current made it very tough to fish them. so we headed into possum creek to get out of the wind and found a good bunch of nice ones at the end of a sunken tree . it was there that william finally found his first TARP crappie emoParty which is also another HOF for him. they seemed to be on about a 6 count there but you had to cast up toward the bank and bring it down along the main trunk to get bit emoScratch water temp was around 60F
kept 14 of the nicer ones for riverrats frying pan with about 30 or so coming to the boat total and only a handful being under 10"

didnt get to do a lot of dock shooting but i hope i helped you out some riverrat . hopefully next time it will be better for that.

i still had a good time with you in the boat with us and i believe william did too even if he slept most of it emoLaugh
