RattleTrapper, Riverpark, Everything, 10/25/09, Andrew

Its been way too long since I've gotten the boat out (we're remodeling our house), so I decided that today was the day. My friend Andrew and I decided to hit the riverpark to see how the bite was. I stopped and got some shiners, just to make sure it wouldn't be a wasted trip. As Michael Scott would say, "I like to go with the airtight plan." We put in at about 8:15 and drifted from the dam. It did not take long to drift all the way from the dam to the Riverpark ramp. We had a couple of close calls when I forgot to pay attention downstream (one bridge piling in particular almost ko'd us). That river is roll'n! Anyway, the bite was pretty slow, but the fish we did catch were all pretty decent size. We ended up with a mixed bag, about 15 or 20 fish of 6 different species (no drum for once). Everything was hugging the bottom pretty tight and all fish were caught in swift current. Managed to get a picture of one smallie without ramming into anything. This one went 3 lbs. It was great to get back out on the water!
