I took Howard (Tennfisher) out on his maiden crappie fishing adventure this morning. A foggy run up the river by GPS and then we hit clear water and clear sailing and we were off. We stopped at our first dock and got into the crappie right away. Then we ran to the creek and caught a few more on brush. Then back to the docks and other spots upriver before finally ending up on a good bluff.

The north wind about 10-15 mph made it tough on Howard to detect the strikes. His red cajun line didn't help either, so we stripped some off and I loaded some Mr Crappie Hi-Vis line for him. I guess that considering the wind and clear skies, we did ok. Landed 45 crappie, 1 largemouth and 1 rock bass. No bluegills today and we had a couple of crappie pull off that we didn't count because they weren't in the boat. No Madbomber rules today. emoBig

Fish were deep today, too. Except for the first 15 or so fish which were at a 6 count, the rest came on a 20 count. Ringer stingers and bg shads caught all the fish today. Howard, I really enjoyed sharing the boat with you today and look forward to another day when the wind doesn't blow so hard and it will be easier for you to detect the very subtle bites that were going on today. emoBig
emoGeezer

BTW, I forgot to insert my card into my camera, so the pics that I took are on my camera and I don't have a wire to transfer them to my computer. emoBang We had some pretty pics too. Howard, maybe you can post some of the ones that you took.??
