Sorry no pictures this time - none really worth taking emoSorry We put in a little late around 1:30 at the dam. I noticed they had two flood gates open on the way up there. We tried Booker T which had been good a couple weeks ago but the shad were mostly gone emoConfused I guess the warm days have driven them deep - Any thoughts on that? Jack had one flash at his spinner bait but missed - water is really clear - Jack is really perfecting his bait casting skills after some lessons from Louie on Wed. He had one bad backlash but managed to get it out himself! WTG Jack. Well after an hour of throwing spinnerbaits and rattletraps and TW with no takers and hoping to see some TW activity we realized it just was not happening so we moved to some deep points and ledges. Spotted a few fish on the depth finder. Sam hung something big - could have been a cat but came unbuttoned on the way up so never saw it. I caught the first fish - a slimey drum emoBang Felt like a bass but gave up too easily. Not bad size though. Then I caught a spot but no size to him emoBang So I put Sam in charge of the TM and I sat down and tied my first Dropshot rig the way Louie taught me to. Hey Louie I even got the hook to point the right way. I only had one hook though and I gave the rig to Jack and I pulled out a spoon. I had a quite a few hits on the spoon but they were not agressive hits so all came off and Jack had one miss on the dropshot and that was about it. Went in early to catch the LSU / Alabama game - the fish could have taken some pointers from how to hit a spoon from the defenses of both teams LOL! emoLaugh Nice day to be out. We will get them next time. Tight lines! emoUSA
