Got on the water about 11:00 after a morning at the gym and spin class. Fishing was tough at the first dock I tried, 0 fish. Next hit a deep water blowdown and first fish was 13.5 in. Caught a couple more nice fish and 1 small one. They were on an 8 count with a 1/16 jig in 12-20' of water. Moved to a bluff and nothing doing. Tried another dock and got 2 good crappie then stopped.

Decided to move upriver and try some more blowdowns. As I was working one spot a bass started busting shad near the boat. He hit them 3 times and I then tossed my crappie jig out in front of the last circle and let it sink a couple of seconds, 1 twitch and bam he hit it. Spot that weighed 3.5# on my dock shooting rod with 4# line. Lots of fun. Moved to another dock and caught another good crappie 13+ on first cast. The current there was really tough and would bow you line and drift the jig into the pilings. Managed a few more decent crappie there, but the bite was very subtle. Now another bass busts some shad by the boat, I flip a jig at him again and he hit it before I could even twitch it. Weighed 2.5#, lol. All bass fishermen need to be throwing BG Shad on 1/16 jig to catch these bass. emoLaugh .

Anyway ended up with 17 Crappie and 2 good bass. All fish returned to the lake. The fishing was very tough, I am sure some of the spots held fish, but I seemed to hit that midday lull that has occured lately with the strong current. I took a couple of pictures, but after seeing all the tarps caught today, I will pass on posting them.

Had a good time and that is what is important.

Regards, Norman
