What a day on the lake. Started at 7:30 this morning, first spot did not have fish so we decided to run to another spot. On the way there we ran into a fog bank. I decide that we would just troll our way back to the spot I wanted to fish. We came up on a point where the water went from 2ft to about 12ft. We caught 8 keeper fish in about 1 hour. Best 5 fish would have went 12 to 14lbs. We threw a Boo-Yaa spinner bait and a 10ft deep crankbait.(also caught 3 bonus smallmouth) After the action cooled off I ask my father in law if he would like to learn dock shooting. We landed 6 crappie or so off the first dock we tried. The current was crazy today. You could not keep the boat still for a second. All in all we landed 25 crappie. BG white with tail light seemed to be the color. On the way to the ramp we meet a couple of nice guys crappie fishing and gave them 7 nice keepers. (Two of the fish were 13&quotWink. I did miss the largest crappie I personal have ever saw. I would guess that it was 15" to 17"....what a monster. Could not get my BIG bass net in the dock to scoop him up. Bummer! All in all it was an AWESOME day to be out.
