Carl Guffey, Ft. Loudoun, bass, hybrids, 11/19, solo
#1
I got off work a little early and decided to try and replicate Sunday's action. Arrived at the first cove and never left. Started off throwing a rattle trap and caught 10 hybrids all in the 1.5 to 2.5 lb range. I moved over to the other side of the cove and started catching largemouth, the first three were keepers and the fourth was a dink. It was starting to get dark and I switched to a chug bug and could not get a bite with a standard retrieve. I started suggestively chugging the bait and about got my arm ripped off. I caught seven more bass and two bluegill before dark. Two of the bass were smallmouth, both keepers one at 3.7 lbs and the other at 4.9. Those two and a largemouth that went 3.8 along with two solid keepers put me at 14 plus pounds for the night.
Total for the night was ten hybrids, 11 bass, 9 keepers, and two bluegill. One of the best evenings I have had on Loudoun in a good while .I fished from 4:35 to 5:55 pm
