drumking, chickamauga, crappie, 11/17/09, John Faulkner
#1
John Faulkner and I got out for about 3.5 hours of fishing this AM. Don't you just love fishing in the rain!!! emoBigSmile We started off fishing docks in the Waconda bay area and caught a few before running to the creek channel edge and found Polo fishing there. He fished on edge and we fished the opposite edge and watched each other catch TARPs and several nice sized fish. I also caught my pet drum there again this AM and we added a yellow bass or 2 to the mix, then we ran out to the river to fish bluffs. Out there we only caught 1 crappie, but I did catch a nice spotted bass and John caught another yellow bass, so we left and decided to fish a dock that we could get under to get out of the rain and John put it on the old Drumking under that dock. 6-0 on that dock.

We had a great time of fellowshiping and fishing in the rain. We finished off our coffee and an apple pie that John provided while we were sitting under another dock (out of the rain) and had a great time telling fishing stories from days of yore. emoBigSmile Sometimes, those fish are almost as much fun catching them the second time as it was way back when. We talked about Watts Bar lake and how good or bad that it can be. We decided around 11:30 that we had had enough for the day. 28 total crappie, 3 yellow bass, 1 spotted bass, and 1 pet drum. A great 3 hours of fishing for sure.

I didn't take pics because of the rain. Not gonna get my camera out of whack again if I can help it. Just take John's word for it. We did catch those fish on bg shads, stubby butts and the best color today was white/chartreuse fished on 1/16 oz jigs mostly. We did use 1/32 oz under a couple of those docks. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
