With the help of Mallard over the phone for some crappie and me seeing a few hybrids earlier in the week, we were hoping to catch a few of each. We didn't kill 'em, but we had fun. We fished about an hour and a half for each, 2 till 5 pm. We caught 6 keeper crappie, 1 nearly 15" and 1 over. 1/32 heads with a BG and a PA about equal, both with tail lights. No consistant count. With the sun getting lower, we headed for the hybrid hole. It started out slow, then Mickey cranked it up with a 14-1 Rockfish on topwater. It was a spectacular toilet flush. He had a good fight on 10 # line also. After weighing, it was released. I added a hybrid about 3 lbs. Both on poppers. The fish were just starting to come up good when this boat drove right through the middle of them. We gave them the "Your # 1" sign.emoBang A friend fishing near us gave us his 5 crappie and he had 2 big ones also. I ended up with 11 good crappie to clean. 4 well over 14 inches. Thanks Mickey and Bill and Marvin, that was a good day.
