So we started out going up river from the River Park, with someone being on the spot I wanted to fish. IT was about 8:30 am when we got the water, temp was around 55F. Fished the bank for a while, I caught one spot on a spinner bait, it was sitting where the fist water meets the calm water, about 50 ft from the shore. Caught a super large drum on a jig not long after that, probably 20lbs. It would not even fit in the net. Tried to get pic but Lefty could not get the camera to come on. I fixed it right after that. Fished a while longer with no excitement except seeing Dragfish and Fishingjunky. Later on I tossed my jig near some brush that was blocking the current, as that was happening Lefty got hung. So I move the boat around so Lefty can get unhung, all the while letting my jog sit in the water not moving. Finally I start my retrieve and I am hung, as I pull it loose, it just gets nailed. After a good fight and thinking I got another drum Lefty nets this 5lb 8oz lg bass for me, my new PB. It was only20.5" long, but very fat. Lefty caught another nice drum after this on a jig and that was it for our day on the lake. This was the second day I have been back on the water since getting my boat fixed. Man it feels good to be back. Friday, day after thanksgiving was the first day back.
