I wimped out for a while Saturday morning! I got up a 6 am to go, but just sat around drank coffee and watched the snow. A little after 9, I couldn't stand it any longer! I was in the water at 10! Would you believe that I was the only idiot at the ramp! Not a boat trailer around! The water level was back up again, fairly high and 7 of the spill ways were open again. TVA was showing 70,000 cfs running through. Water temp was down to 51 degrees. Started with a spinner bait, no good, switched to a jerk bait and picked one 17 in. smallie. Then I got my normal bonus drum on the jerk. He had my attention there for a minute, he smacked that jerk and headed out for deeper water really fast, that was what threw me off! But then he popped up! About 10 lbs. Caught a decent spot and another smallie about 16 1/2 in. Started throwing the jig a little deeper and never got a bump. Went back to the spinner bait and got another spot. Finally I got my only keeper smallie, about 4 lbs. That was it! Saw KDK as I was leaving at 2 pm. maybe he got 'em!?
