I worked last night but needed to be up during the day so I can sleep well tonight and I couldn't think of a better way than to fish. Freida and I hopped in the boat and tried for a flathead catfish for a few minutes, no bites and caught on some brush and broke off so went for crappie. I fished an offshore spot and had one nice one but the wind was bad at that spot and so didn't stay there long. Saw some what looked like bass activity and caught a couple. Saw lots of fish on the depthfinder in deep water and the bass were caught fishing vertically. I thought of DHaun and called him and he was up for a few hours of fishing. He caught quite a few fish on a jigging spoon, including crappie, yellow bass and a 5lb largemouth. Here are a couple of pics of the bass, mine were between 2.5 and 3lbs each. It was a great day, albeit very cold. I can think of very few better ways to spend a day.
