Vinyle paint or powdercoat

Just doing more research and I am wondering which paint holds up the best. it doesnt really matter because I could dip them again and again when i returned home but what do you prefer for ice fishing jigs?

I am guessing here, but it all looks the same to me, I think it is all manufactured by the same company.

some one please correct me if I am wrong.

[cool][#0000ff]I'll chime in here. I have been making and selling jig heads for over 30 years. I have tried virtually every kind of paint and coating to hit the market...enamel, acrylic, nail polish, powder, epoxy and vinyl jig paints.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Almost anything will work to coat and color a jig head. The key is how well it holds up over time...and a few dings on rocks or munches from toothy fishies. And, no matter what you use for basic color you should plan to top coat it with a clear epoxy. That helps give it both luster and toughness...and protects against the action of chemical solvents in soft plastics.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]My personal opinion...and that of many guys who use the jigs I make...is that the vinyl paints hold up better and are less prone to chipping. You can also do more with special color patterns, eyes, glitter, glow, etc. By the time I get through with some of my specialty colors...like fire tiger, pale perch, glitter coats, etc....there are about 4 layers of protection. That stuff doesn't chip off or fade.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I mix glitters and glow powder in the clear gloss vinyl jig paint and get much better results than trying to apply it in a slow drying epoxy.[/#0000ff]
