The crappie fishing today was "tough". Murdock and I tried from around 9 'til about 3pm with hardly any success. The first cast I caught a really good keeper and was thinking a good day was about to arrive but it was not to be. We fished docks in water from 3ft to 15 ft or so, fished blowdowns in depths down to 20ft, fished some verticle structure and even a bluff, also and used 1/16 and 1/32 but not much luck. Water temp around 43 degrees in most places.

We finished the day with 5 crappie (3 keepers which were released), 1 spot, and 1 yellow bass. I really believe that the water level fluctuation is hurting the fishing right now. Hopefully it'll settle down and we can do a little better next time. Still it was a great day to be on the water, plus we did run into DrumKing and Hal out there and even they were struggling today to find any fish. When they struggle I know I'm in trouble. It was good to be out there with Murdock and we'll do it again soon. emoToast
