Boulder harbor friday morn
#1
Hit Boulder Harbor this morning when I decided to kill an hour. I dropped my kinder-gardener off at 9 am for school, hooked up the new boat (yup- I got a 15 foot aluminum boat for X-Mas) and headed to the lake. I started trolling around boulder harbor at 9:45- Hooked up with a fish on a 6" swim-bait at 10:05-

Forgot the camera, but had my cell phone handy-

20" - - - 3 Lbs on the new digital scale

I was driving home by 10:30

Got home and filleted that fish

They are still eatin' shad-

And after all that, I had two nice fillets in the freezer, and I made to the school to pick up my daughter by 11:30.

Damn I feel accomplished!

There ya have it. The new boat and the swimmy.

On a side note... This boat has a tiny 3.5 HP motor on it. I want to get something in the 15-25 HP range. If any of you guys know about a motor up for sale or trade, let me know.

My Mercury is a 2007- clean, and runs well.

Hello Whizzle,

Great report and nice ride. The shad still have not gone deep I though they would have by now. Strange things are going on out there. I also heard there is so much shad that they are not targeting on the trout this year. Not to many big fish reports.

Don't know about a new one but my boat could use a 3.5hp. Send me a PM if you are looking for offers.

John, Congratulations on getting the new rig. Looks good. Perseverance will find you a deal on a 15 hp outboard. Out in the harbor 12/31/09 and noticed the cranes lined up along shore at dusk looking for shad. Check your messages.
