I met Hal at the Armstrong bridge at Soddy creek late morning and we launched the ice breaker and braved a very chilly day. Water temps were from 37 degrees in the creek to just above 41 degrees below the discharge at the nuke plant. This is a very easy report. We only caught the Lone Ranger. Tonto was no where to be found. This was one crappie that was intent on committing suicide, but we threw him back to think it over again. emoBig

Hal wanted to try spider rigging and trolling and I had rather watch paint dry as troll. (It is cheating to troll and illegal when the water is as cold as it was today.) emoPoke emoTongue Needless to say, no fish fell to the trolling technique. Thank goodness. Rsimms would have never let me live this down if we had caught any. The only keeper came while Hal made a cast and was doing something else and the fish bit his lure. I don't know who was the most surprised, the fish, Hal, or me. Don't nobody else invite me to troll this year. I have already gotten in my one and only time.

Don't look for me out there until the water warms back up to at least 45 degrees. I'm packing it in for the winter. (Maybe) emoBig
emoGeezer

Oh, BTW, we did drive into Ware branch to look around and found it iced over from about the first dock in all the way to the back. Check out the pics.
