Fished in upper chick today drifting for sauger. Finally got flood gates closed. My dad came down from Grainger county and fished with me. Fished from 11 am to 4 pm. Caught 12 sauger, 3 being keepers. Dad in picture with his two. He caught 2 to my 1 today except for the small 8" catfish I caught. Most fish caught between 12 noon and 2 pm. Started out drifting in 30 - 34 foot water. Nothing. Went out to 45 - 50 foot and immediately got bites. Used a burnt orange 1 1/3 oz fly vertical jigging. Water temp was 39.5 to 40.5. A number of boats out, but no one else we saw caught much.
