what you fish on?

Hello all.
So I figured there are a few people following the board that are either looking at boats or other water craft to fish from. Lake Mead/Mohave is big water and can get dangerous so lets give them examples of what we use. Having to have a portable craft that can fish trout waters and still water my current ride is a bass guide from water skeeter. Its outfitted with a 30lb minkota troller with deep cycle battery. I have at one time mounted a fish finder on it. Works pretty good for my needs. Can motor all day and the casting platform is great. Here is not my video but a similar set up. To anyone wanting to get on the water and fish there are other options than a full blown tournament style boat. I would bet that there are people who are looking for that type of boat at BPS. SSome people have cuddys others have center consoles. Nothing wrong with that at all. These bigger boats offer more range and a faster means to cover water. Hey I friends with fishcat float tubes and you open up many options when you are free from land.

Ive always liked those pontoons- they seem pretty comfortable for a one man operation-

Ive been fishing from kayaks for a few years now, and I love em- they are perfect fishing vessels.

I did just get an aluminum fishing boat though- now Im spoiled. I dont have to work hard if I dont want to now.

Yeah being from Southern California yaks are the the small boat of choice if human powered the have little resistance in the sea, are fairly stable. I have seen tons of mods some with sounders bait tanks you name it. I have even seen people stand on them. What kind of Tin boat did you get? Any advantage of the Yak. A plus with tin over glass is that the hull is more forgiving I think about beaching.

I picked up a 12 ft fiberglass Sea King (not sinking yet) and use a 30 lbs thrust trolling motor. Got the boat and trailer after looking over 1-1/2 years on Craigslist. Sturdy enough to stand and fish, the deck forward and aft flip up for storage. It's rated for 15hp but 7.5 to 6 would be just right.

Its a westcoaster. Never heard of them, but it seems to be made very well.

I like the kayak for stealth reasons, and for the exercise.

Nice, what is the HP on your boat. My neighbor has on like that with a 50hp merc.

Outboard is a 90 HP Honda
boat is a Valco Bayrunner Baja 21

top speed is about 30 mph on the lake and about 35 in the ocean, more than fast enough.
