Labman, Chickamauga, Crappie, 01/18/2010

Put in at CFP about 10:30. My intention was to try and find some of the elusive crappie. I fished until 3:30 and never had a bite of any kind.

Obviously I do not understand the winter crappie fishing thing. I fished open water structure, docks, marinas, bluffs, creek channel, small shallow bay full of shad, bridge pilings, shallow, deep, and everywhere in between; nothing, nada, not one nibble. Amazing, I was sure I would pick up a couple of spots at the least.

I was just reading an article in IN Fisherman about the winter panfish doldrums, but they were talking about iced in lakes. For me it seems to apply to our lake too.

I was going to fish tomorrow too, but think I will take a long bike ride instead. I need to think about todays debacle. This is a real challenge, 2 trips and not a single fish.

That's my story and I am sticking to it. Sorry, no pics today

Regards, Labman

emoBang emoBang emoBang
