Canyon Lake /Guadalupe River Guide Report

CANYON LAKE: Water clear; 86.5 degrees; 910.11':
Largemouth are fair to good at daylight in 4'-8' along mainlake points on 1/4 oz. Silver Terminator spinnerbaits, 1/4 oz. Frenzy Pro's, and Whacky rigged Ice Tea Scoundrel worms or watermelon/char. Bush Pig (www.cremelure.com) and Carolina rigging watermelon colored Snap Back jerkbait (www.canyonlakefishing.com) in 25'-30' of water on secondary points in larger creeks. Upriver, the water is
finally clearing and clients have been most successful pitching a junebug Craw Tube(www.cremelure.com) to standing timber along bluffs in 12' of water. Upriver, water tem. is 87 degrees.
Smallmouth are fair along bluffs early in 12'-25" using 3" rootbeer curl tail grubs, smoke 3" Super Tubes and smoke Yamamoto Cut Tail worms(www.canyonlakefishing.com), on 1/8 oz. jig heads and working them all slowly down bluff ledges.
Stripers are slow along mainlake points in 70(plus) feet trolling Hyper Striper jigs(www.kgenterprise.com) with trailers, vertically jigging 1 oz. Pirk Minnows and drifting live bait.
White Bass fair at night under lights using 1-1/2" inch Lit'l Fishie Tiny Traps(www.rat-l-trap.com) and drifting minnows in 10'-30'.
Crappie are fair upriver tight to timber and brush using 1/32 oz. Road Runners and minnows.
