Jim and I met up and got on the water around noon. Decided we would give the FnF a try. Sure enough Jim catches a 15" spot on the first cast. We werent sure if that was a bad thing or a good thing.
I boated a largemouth and another spot just a little while later on the FnF.
After an hour in our first spot catching 3 fish, we decided to give the FnF a try where Colby caught a 3lb spot just yesterday.
Its a nice pool of deep water near a flat. Jim casts right into the middle and hooks up with a HUGE spot. Never got a good look at the fish but it was pulling his drag like nothing. He fought the fish for a good 30 seconds or so, then it pulled loose emoBang emoBang emoBang
We kinda guessimated the fish to be one of those lovely 4-5lb spots emoBig
Nevermind they arent that lovely, they are too mean!
I ended up boating another small spot only minutes later.
Trolled off the flat and fished another little pocket about 75yds away. Jim hooked into another good fish that pulled loose. We never saw this one but it was pulling just as hard as the one he lost only 20 minutes earlier. emoBang
He made a few more casts in that pocket, ended up catching a 16-17" spot.
That was our last bass of the day. It was only 2:30 by then but the bite was slowing down, way down.
We ended up getting one more bass to bite in the next 2-3 hours. Also ended up catching 2 yellow perch. The one I caught was 14.5" long and weighed 1lb 8oz! emoEek
We called it a day by 6 this evening. Had a great time and would love to go again here soon. Weather was GREAT!
Jim will post pictures of that yellow perch here in a little while Im sure.
Oh, and.... I took a pic of jim holding 4 of the bass on my phone and a friend called me and the picture didnt get saved, so much for that.
