since the rest of the week is looking pretty poor for fishing i was able to convince the warden to another day of fishing today.

the target was crappie of course but they didnt seem to want what i was offering. fished mostly off shore structure today shallow points dropping into deeper water that seemed to be loaded
with fish on the side imager. most of the fish were whites/yellows with only 10 crappie in the boat and only one of those was a keeper. the whites and yellows though ..... i must have put 50+ of those in the boat from 2 different spots and lots of those were super chunky and lots of fun to catch.

they seemed to like a 2 turn 3 count pause retrieve after an initial 8 count drop in 10-12 fow very close to deeper water on a 1/32 jig with a light colored BG shad . pearl white, albino, and bluegrass with a RED tail light seemed to be the choice for the whites/yellows today.

water temp started out 42 or so in grasshopper when i put in at 9 am, 45 or so in sale creek and by 3:30 it was 48 in possum creek.
left the water around 4pm to meat a friend who owed me money ( if not for that i would have stayed till dark emoBigSmile )

the I-Pilot gps trolling motor continues to impress not only me but captain hazmat as well. we ended up fishing close to each other in possum creek for a bit and while he was fighting the breeze that was blowing to keep his boat in the zone, i was casting , catching fish, walking from the front to the back of the boat, catching fish, pouring coffee and catching fish . while never straying from the strike zone and NEVER touching the trolling motor emoBigSmile emoBigSmile emoBigSmile
i think he may have called me something but i was too busy doing something else besides fighting a trolling motor to notice what it was emoPoke

what an absolutely beautiful day to be on the water. its been to long since i have had one like this
