Southern Utah late April - suggestions?
#1
I have a business trip coming up Wed-Fri the third week of April in St. George. I am thinking of taking a couple of day of vacation before then and checking out what fishing spots there might be down South, but I have not fished anything down that way. I was thinking the Beaver river might be good, but I would welcome suggestions from anyone willing to share their favorite S Utah fishing places.

The Beaver River below Minersville is often a good bet this time of year...you could also check out Clear Creek, the Sevier River in Marysvale Canyon, Black Canyon, or Kingston Canyon (flows may be an issue in the Sevier, but worth a look). Also, don't be afraid to check out the stillwaters--Minersville, Sand Hollow, Quail, etc..

The Beaver below Minersville has been "no tresspassing" for the last year...and not worth sludging through the mud to access (2 miole hike for only a few good holes)

Kingston and Marysville canyons will begin irragation flows April 15

Black Canyon of Seveir will most-likely be blown out by run-off

Beaver river in the Canyon will be blown-out with run-off.

Give me a shout in a few weeks and I might have enough recon to give you some advice off-site...

I'll PM off-site
