drumking, chickamauga, crappie, 3/16/10, Labman
#1
Labman took me crappie fishing today in the cold and the wind. We had more luck scouting than we did actully catching fish. We ran upriver to the creek and bombed out. Nothing happening up there. Stopped on the way back downriver and caught 5 crappie in a cove that I had never fished before. It is good to find new places to fish from time to time.

Then we hit the dock that was productive yesterday and found the catching to be much slower than yesterday. We caught 8 more fish, but well after the peak of the feeding time. Wind was much stronger and colder than yesterday too. We released all fish today as most of them were smaller crappie. No slabs today. We caught our fish on slab slayers, bg shads, and stingers. No bass, no bluegills, no nothing else.

I enjoyed myself, Norman, even though I didn't do a good job of guiding today. There will be better days ahead. Thanks for taking me today. emoBigSmile emoGeezer 42,000 cfs was the waterflow, 48 to 49 degrees most places. The fish that we did catch were around 6 feet deep or so and all came off docks. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
