A beautiful day today and everybody decided to go fishing. There were more than 80 Trailers at CFP when I put in around noon. Got on to some fish pretty quickly with only 1 non-productive stop before finding some. Fished a dock at mouth of possible spawing ground and got into to some good fish. Water was about 18' and temp 52. All caught on 1/32 jig with BG Shad and PA's. Most any color seemed to work, all with taillight on a 5 count with some dead sticking. Left after catching 18 crappie, 15 keepers and 3 shorts. All the females are bursting with eggs it looks like. The keepers were all 11-13" and very fat.

Tried a couple more spots with no success and then moved upriver to mouth of another spawning bay. Got into fish right away, but a few more smalls. Glanced at the structure scan and it was showing a huge school right behind the boat in open water. Tossed out a jig and bam hooked up. 5 straight casts and a fish. Lost the school and returned to to dock and got a few more decent fish. Water depth there was about 8' and same baits and count used.

Ended the day with 38 Crappie of which probably 10 were smalls. Nothing super big, but some very nice fish. All returned to the lake for another day.

Regards, Labman
