Started at CFP at daylight and fished some shore structure that I usually catch fish on but I think the water is a little bit cool yet. So moved to some deeper structure and proceeded to catch 8 keepers, three yellow bass, and about a three pound channel cat within 30 minutes. Called Captain Hazmat, who wanted to keep a limit of crappie so we decided to meet near the nuke plant. I got there first and stopped to fish at a place I had done well this time last year, and the crappie were there also. In about an hour, I caught ten nice keepers, and threw back 5 or 6 that were right at ten inches. Was able to help Captain Hazmat give his client, Roger, a good mess of crappie to take home. All fish were caught on a BG Albino Shad with a Chartreuse tail-light on a 1/24 jighead (picked these up at Hamilton's Sport Shop and I really, really like them). Great morning on the water. The next month is my favorite fishing month of the year!
