Colby and I hit the lake around noon and fished for a good 7 hours.
There was something wrong with me today, I could not catch a fish to save my life. emoDoh Colby on the other hand caught 9 spots. 6 or 7 of them were solid keepers over 15".
He caught 2 that were over 3LB. Biggest was probably just over 3.5lbs. Had one more fish that might've been close to 3lb. We estimated the best 5 to be 12-14lbs. By far our best 5 of the year.
All fish were caught on the float and fly. We were getting a couple hits worm fishing but not much else.
Water has pretty much cleared back up since the rain last week. Pretty stained around the mid part of the lake. As for the water temps... I have no clue, but with the warmer weather over the last couple days, the small spots are starting to move up pretty shallow and even chasing some bluebacks. It wont be long before we see some big schools of bass chasing big schools of shad.
We got us a great spring coming our way. Cant wait! emoDance
