Indiana Historic Site hosts Ice Fishing Derby and Family Fishing Fair

Indiana anglers of all ages are welcome to visit Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site for the inaugural Ice Fishing Derby and Family Fishing Fair, taking place Feb. 6, running from 6 to 11 a.m.

Participants are invited to take part in the competitive ice fishing event, as well as numerous other family-friendly activities. Ice anglers of all skill levels are welcome to compete in the 2010 Gene Stratton-Porter Ice Fishing Derby on Sylvan Lake . Prizes are to be awarded in multiple categories, and participants can have fish identified by DNR Fish & Wildlife experts.

There is a $3 per person entry fee to participate in the ice fishing derby. Anglers, age 18 and older, are required to have a valid Indiana fishing license. Registration is recommended. Call (260) 854-3790 or e-mail genestrattonportershs@dnr.IN.gov.
